Deb was a great person, she never wavered in her faith, while trials with her health, and the health of other family members were with her. We were close, and had many talks together, about life in general..and shared advice. I called her while she was in Ann Arbor, her " home" Dec. 2012, while awaiting a heart pump implant. I sent letters, cards..she did the same when my brother passed 3 weeks ago. She was sweet, kind, and never had a derogatory comment to say.
I always bought Deb angels for Christmas..she had amassed quite a collection. She told me where and when she received each one. We spent most holidays together, and enjoyed a Tiger game with her fiance,Terry; and I with mine, Dave Lewis. We spent Super Bowl Sunday together...we had a nice visit...that was the last time I talked to Deb. We had even talked of having a double wedding ceremony..she and Terry, Dave and I. Terry proposed to her while she was in Ann Arbor hospital she said. We attended Chris and Jenn (Byrne) Lewis wedding together, in September 2012, ..and spent Thanksgiving with the family at the Kingfish in Bay City. Deb was very weak..but did not complain. She fought to the end.
I know she is in Heaven, with her family who went ahead of her...and while we will miss here on earth, we take comfort knowing she is no longer in pain and suffering.
God wrapped his arms around Deb, and the Angels she so loved here on earth, are now embracing her above.
I miss my friend, but know I will again...one day see her.

Deb was a very special person...and a friend I had gotten to know quite well in the 6 years since I had met her. She and I used to have talks under the trees..in Terry's parents backyard...about life..God...relationships. We spent almost all of the holidays together, and a lot of 'just because' times too! Deb was very sick, but her faith never wavered, nor did she complain.
She told me of the origin of each of her angels, for she had amassed quite a collection. I had just bought one for her a few weeks ago...for a gift. She took great care of Terry, as he did the same for her, after she bacame ill. I had a lot of laughs with Deb, when we had our annual 'get together' for the St. Patrick's parade in Bay City. We spent our Christmas day every year with Terry's family...and had a great time..exchanging gifts...and sharing laughs. Deb was not able to join us this past year, as she was in the hospital, so we all visited with her on the phone. She was missed very much. This past summer...Deb, Terry, Dave (Terry's brother) and I took in a Tiger game...in Sept. Dave's son Chris married Jennifer Byrne...and we had a great time sharing memories. Thanksgiving, Deb was very weak, but joined the Lewis family at the Kingfish restaurant in Bay City. I remember asking Deb if she wanted apple or pumpkin pie..she could not decide...so I brought her a slice of each. :) She never complained. Deb spent Dec. 2012 in Ann Arbor, at U of M hospital, awaiting a heart pump implant. I called her on my way to work...the day before...to reassure her. We shared a lot..she wrote me a nice note 3 weeks ago, after my brother passed away suddenly. I saw Deb at a family party in early Feb. 2013 for the last time. We had a nice conversation, as she told me Terry had proposed...and we had discussed a 'double wedding"..she and Terry, Dave and I.
A void has been left in our family...but we know Deb is at home with God now..and the angels she so loved. I know I will meet her again in Heaven. Deb was a flower amongst the many thorns in life. I will keep the angel I bought her....in honor of her...and in her memory. Peace and prayers to Terry, Katie, and Deb's family.
