Avis Moody

MOODY, Avis E. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at her home, surrounded by her family. She was 96 years old. Avis E. Evans was born on August 18, 1916 in St. Charles, Michigan to the late William and Emily M. (Rice) Evans. She married Eugene Moody on February 17, 1939 in Bay City; he preceded her in death on April 16, 1961. Avis worked for St. Luke's Hospital as an administrative secretary for many years. Surviving is a son, Brian E. (Carol A.) Moody of Kalamazoo; daughter-in-law, Kathleen A. Moody of Freeland; six grandchildren: Melissa, Michelle, and Michael Moody, Regan (Tim) Braun, Erin (Taver) Zoet, and Brian Moody and his fiancée Amy; six great grandchildren: Jordyn Moody, Liam and Fiona Braun, August and Macklin Zoet, and Kellan Moody. Surviving is Avis' dear friend and caregiver, Wendy Wolfe. She was preceded in death by a son, Craig E. Moody and a step-sister, Doris (Tom) Sloan. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Saturday, February 16, 2013 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and 2:30 to 4:00 p.m. Honoring Avis' wishes cremation will follow.
