JUREK, Russell A. Jr., of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, December 25, 2012. He was 59 years old. Russell A. Jurek, Jr. was born on April 4, 1953 in Saginaw, Michigan to Russell A. Sr. and Marilyn (Williams) Jurek. He was a 1971 graduate of Arthur Hill Tech and had been employed with General Motors for over 36 years. Russell enjoyed fishing and stamp collecting. Surviving are two daughters: Amy Marie (Donald Jr.) Schlegel of Saginaw, Cheryl Lynn Jurek of Grand Rapids; two grandchildren: Brendan and Samuel Schlegel; his mother, Marilyn Jurek of Saginaw; two sisters and two brothers: Deborah A. (Richard) Rogers of Grand Rapids, Theresa E. (Norbert) Cazabat of Dallas, TX, Timothy M. (Gretchen) Jurek of Harrison and Christopher D. Jurek of Saginaw. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Arthur Jurek; father, Russell A. Jurek, Sr.; brother, Mark Anthony Jurek; grandparents: George and Elizabeth Walters and William and Lucy Jurek. FUNERAL: Honoring Russell's wishes a private funeral and burial service will take place at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Ambassadors for Opportunity, a charity serving children with Autism; forward the donations to the funeral home for distribution.

To the entire Jurek family; my family and I met Russ almost four years ago when we moved in next door. He was friendly and welcoming to us. He became our friend! He helped me when I got sick, and continued to help with projects around the house. My older sons helped him when needed, and my 8yr old daughter kept him laughing. He will be missed by all of us.
