SPYKER, James "Spike" of Bridgeport, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at his home. Age 63 years. James Stewart Spyker was born on September 13, 1949 in Saginaw to the late Stewart and Marie (Pickelman) Spyker. He was married to Bonnie Schomaker on December 16, 1972. She survives him. Jim had been employed by Remote Satellite as a sales person. Prior to that, he worked as an insurance agent for various companies. Jim was an avid golfer. Surviving are his wife, Bonnie; a son, Brian (Lisa) Spyker; three grandchildren: Joshua, Jared, and Rachel; eight siblings: Ed (Jeannie) Spyker of Carrollton, Judy (Art) Dietrich of Beaverton, Diane (Karl) Brandt of Saginaw, Carol (James) Hackett of Frankenmuth, Kim Perry of Spring Hill, Fl., Susan (Larry) Schluckbier of Saginaw, Robin (Cheryl) Perry of Saginaw, Kevin (Mo Godfout) Perry of Fraser; many brothers and sisters-in-law: Barbara Perry, Pat (Dan) Avery, Raymond John (Diane) Schomaker, Annette (Pete) Knodel, Rosanne (Jim) Little, Patty Schomaker, Daryl Schomaker, Richard (Sue) Schomaker; and his special little friend, Shoshannah. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents, Stewart Spyker and Marie (Spyker) Perry; a stepfather, George Perry; a brother, George "Butch" Perry; and his mother and father-in-law, Evelyn and Raymond John Schomaker; a sister-in-law, Christine List; and a brother-in-law, Paul Schomaker. In accordance with Jim's wishes cremation has taken place. FUNERAL: Memorial Services will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 20, 2012 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter (off State St.). Chaplain Art Dietrich will officiate. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at Deisler Funeral Home on Tuesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Spyker Family Discretionary Fund C/O G. I remember one Christmas at my parents...we were in the basement when my sister Annette's daughter came downstairs and saw Jim. She got all excited, pointed at Jim and said "Look...Santa is here!"

We are very very sad to hear of Jim's passing. Please accept our sincere sympathy to you and your family. We may not have seen you in a long time, but we have never forgotten you guys or the great times we shared. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
