WACHOWICZ, Bernadette D. of Midland, Michigan, formerly of Saginaw, passed away on Saturday, November 10, 2012, at her home, surrounded by family. Age 86 years. Bernadette D. Cottrell was born in Saginaw on October 17, 1926, to the late Cecil and Emma (Duperon) Cottrell. She was married to Joseph Wachowicz on June 14, 1947. He preceded her in death on August 30, 1983. Bernadette attended the Saginaw Business Institute, where she met the love of her life while attending business school. She was proud of her family—children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren—and they were her life. Bernadette leaves to cherish her memory, three sons and three daughters, Richard (Heidi) Wachowicz of Granger, Indiana, Michael (Nanci) Wachowicz of Saginaw, Theresa (Terry) Call of Saginaw, Joseph Wachowicz of Saginaw, Elizabeth Reynolds of Midand, and Karen (Keith) Brown of Freeland; 13 grandchildren, Lauren (Ryan) Whalen, Jason Gomez, Michael (Natalie) Wachowicz, Lindsay (Mike) Harshman, Brian Call, Amy (Robert) Call-Brethauer, Kelly (Jason) Cupp, Zachary Nagel, Jaime Nagel, James (Kristy) Reynolds, Tiffany (Louis III) Serafin, Justin Brown, and Tarra Brown; 26 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Cecil (Leota) Cottrell, Thomas (Marilou) Cottrell, and Rev. Fr. James Cottrell. She was preceded in death by sister, Virginia (Seth) Burnett; infant sister, Colleen Cottrell; step-sister, Margaret; and step-brother, Mick. FUNERAL: A Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, November 14, 2012, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 3109 Swede Ave., Midland 48642. Rite of Committal with entombment to follow in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at Deisler Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 13, 2012, from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Friends and family will gather at the funeral home Tuesday night at 7:00 pm for a Vigil Service. Wednesday morning, Bernadette will be taken to church to lie in state from 10:00 am until the time of Mass of 11:00 am. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church.

My Mother in law, was a wonderful women. Who from the moment I first met her, welcomed me with open arms, and my son jason also. She created memories with my children, that they laugh at when they think of them. she could at time say the most funniest things. She never asked from anyone, just to have her family around her. She was well taken care of my her Daughter Liz. Whom I am thankful for making my mother in laws life very filled with love and caring. I know her pain and suffering is over, and she is in a much better place. With love to you , your Daughter in law Nanci
