Obituary
SALVNER, Leonard "Len" As God has given us the gift of Len on October 19, 1927; he has now received him back into his arms peacefully 85 years later on his birthday. He was born to the late Elmer and Vida (Fraley) Salvner in Saginaw. Len married Thelma Burmiester on July 14, 1973 in Saginaw; she preceded him in death on November 23, 2008. He was a faithful member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Len was a man always on the go. He also enjoyed spending time and doing activities with his family. He loved music, especially playing the Organ. He also enjoyed playing cards, working on his computers, photography, and electronics. Surviving are a son, Douglas (Linda) Salvner; three daughters: Kathie (Albert) Sanchez, Linda (Rickie) Church, Cynthia Lynch; three stepsons: Clarence (Fran) Jaenicke, Jr., Carl (Jacquelyn) Jaenicke, Roy Jaenicke; a sister, Virginia Morgan. Also surviving are many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and his special cat, Samatha. He was preceded in death by two brothers: Bill Salvner, Ken Salvner; stepmother, Erma Salvner; half sister: Debbie Herr; and a favorite nephew, Lenny Salvner. Len's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of his caregivers. FUNERAL: Len's Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, October 23, 2012 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss Street, Saginaw, Michigan, 48602. Rev. Charles Buckhahn will officiate. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with Len's family on Monday, October 22, 2012 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State), Saginaw, Michigan, 48603 from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or to the American Cancer Society. Grandpa…. For all the endless trips to the zoo. For the trips to the popshop to pick our own soda, for the mornings in the kitchen eating shredded wheat and watching The Price Is Right. So sad to hear that uncle len passed,But i know he is in good hands.He is smiling down on all of us in no more pain. he was such a sweetheart may he R.I.P...Love you uncle len!!
