Agnes McCarty

MCCARTY, Agnes Marie (Herbert) of Saginaw Michigan passed away Thursday, October 04, 2012 at Covenant HealthCare - Harrison. Age 98 years. Agnes Marie Herbert was born March 26. 1914. She married John McCarty, DDS.on August 10, 1940. He predeceased her on January 20, 2004. Agnes was employed at St. Mary's Hospital as a lab technician. She later went into teaching at North Middle School for fifteen years until her retirement. Agnes and John moved to California and enjoyed raising avocadoes for many years before returning to Michigan because of health reasons. Left to cherish Agnes' memory are her son, Dennis (Elaine) McCarty of Davisburg; five grandchildren: Mary Jo Brockman of Warren, Mark McCarty of Tampa FL, Major Sarah (Daniel) Ohm of Honolulu, HI, Erin (Adam) Ray of Versailles, KY, Michael (Betzy) McCarty of Chicago, IL; three great grandchildren: Cheyenne McCarty, Ian Ohm, Megan Ohm, and a fourth due in the spring. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, including Sharon Herbert of Ann Arbor and James (Carol) Herbert of CA, along with several close friends. Agnes was predeceased by her daughter Maureen McCarty in 2007. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 8, 2012 at The Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption, 615 Hoyt Ave. Rev. Fr. Thomas McNamara will officiate. In accordance with Agnes' wishes cremation has taken place. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at The Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
