Juan Rodriguez

RODRIGUEZ, Juan V. of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away on Sunday, September 16, 2012, at Health Source of Saginaw with his family by his side. He was 89 years old. Juan V. Rodriguez was born on June 10, 1923 in Encinas, Coahuila, Mexico, to the late Crecencio Rodriguez and Julia Vasquez. He married Enedina Villegas on December 14, 1947 in Texas; she survives him. Juan was employed by General Motors in 1952, retiring in 1983 with over 31 years of service. He was a member of the U.A.W. Local 668. Juan was an avid lottery player and enjoyed bingo and walking. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving besides his wife, Enedina, are three daughters and a son: Dora Linda Landin of Saginaw, Lilia (Carey) Moore of Saginaw, Julia (Bill) Mauws of Holland, and Lionel (Maria Lopez) Rodriguez of Saginaw; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a brother-in-law, Pedro Villegas of Texas. Juan was preceded in death by a son, Johnny G. Rodriquez; two brothers: Blas Saucedo and Virgilio Arizola. FUNERAL: A funeral liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 20, 2012 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 3680 S. Washington. Rev. Fr. Thomas Schmied will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow in St. Andrew Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Wednesday, September 19, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Vigil Service will take place at 7:30 p.m. Juan will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Mass MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
