Mable Sommer

SOMMER, Mable L. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Cartwright Hospice Residence. She was 75 years of age. Mable Lois Hollenbeck was born on October 20, 1936 in Arenac County, Michigan to the late Oliver and Myrtle May (Meikle) Hollenbeck. Mable married Ronald E. Sommer on October 12, 1954 in Saginaw, Michigan. He survives her. Mable dedicated her life to her family and loved spending time with them. She loved helping people and those around her. She then furthered her education and received a certificate as a Certified Nursing Assistant and was employed with Heartland Hospice for 17 years until retiring in August 2011. Surviving besides her husband, Ronald; are a daughter, Patti (Grant) Heitzig; three grandchildren: Samantha and Skye Heitzig and Michael (Jennifer) Sommer; three great grandchildren: Katelyn and Amelia Sommer and Jaden Weichel; a sister, Donna Thompson; and four brothers: Joseph (Bridget), Jack, Jerry (Marty) and Michael (Sandra) Hollenbeck. Mable was preceded in death by two sons, Bradley and Michael Sommer; a brother, Elmer Hollenbeck; and a sister, Grace Christopher. FUNERAL- Mable's Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd (Off State). Pastor Wayne Shidler will officiate with the burial at Forest Lawn Cemetery. VISITATION- Friends are welcome to visit with Mable's family at Deisler Funeral Home on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and will resume again on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of 11:00 a.m. service.
