Hugh Grover

GROVER, Hugh G. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at Covenant Healthcare - Cooper surrounded by his family. He was 83 years old. Hugh G. Grover was born on July 11, 1928 in Ithaca to the late Francis and Bernice (Azelborn) Grover. He was married to Marie E. Kassin on June 30, 1956 in Angola, Indiana; she survives him. Hugh graduated from Saginaw High School; Class of 1947. Following graduation he proudly served in the U.S. Army. Upon his return, Hugh worked for C&O Railroad as a dispatcher, retiring after 30 years of service. Hugh was a member of the Eagles Club #497, an avid bowler, golfer and enjoyed fishing and playing cards. Most of all, Hugh treasured spending time with his loving family. Surviving are his loving wife, Marie; two daughters: Renee (Michael) Popovich, Diane (Rex) Struble; a daughter-in-law, Paola Grover; seven grandchildren: Lauren Popovich, Christopher Struble, Adam Struble, Ashley Popovich, Kristen Popovich, Matthew Grover, and Valerie Grover; two sisters: Sandra Zola and Sherrie (Wayne) Fletcher. He was preceded in death by a son, Richard Hugh Grover. FUNERAL: Funeral services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Milton Pierce will officiate. Military Honors will be conducted under the auspices of V.F.W. Post 1859. In accordance with Hugh's wishes cremation will follow. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at Deisler Funeral Home on Friday, June 22, 2012 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service.
