Federico Ortiz

ORTIZ, Federico Juan Jr. of Saginaw Michigan passed away on Friday, April 6, 2012 at Allegiance Hospital. He was 55 years old. Federico was born on June 29, 1956 in Eagle Pass, Texas to Federico and Velia (Falcon) Ortiz Sr.; they survive him. He married Melinda Santoya on October 16, 1996 in Saginaw; she survives him. Federico was a loving, giving and caring husband, father, grandfather, and son. He loved to barbeque and watch sports. He is survived by his wife, Melinda; two sons and one daughter: Federico (Fiancée Angelica) Ortiz III, Santino E. Ortiz, Cassandra (Fredrick) Dukes; three step sons and two step daughters: Tommy Muller, Rolando (Estrella) Santoya, Troy Cruz, Jr., Lisandra (fiancé Daniel) Santoya, Sonia (Fiancé Eric) Cruz; two sisters and three brothers: Shelley (Ernie) Banda, Lisa (Steve) Ramirez, Rick (Anna) Ortiz, David (Elena) Ortiz, and Albert Ortiz; 10 grandchildren; many dear friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews. FUNERAL: Funeral Liturgy will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, April 12, 2012 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. 6th Ave. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris OFMCap will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at Mt. Olivet. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. A Vigil service will take place on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m. Federico will lie in state at the church on Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of Mass.
