Frank Castillo

CASTILLO, Frank of Saginaw, Michigan passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on Saturday, December 17, 2011 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 85 years. Frank Castillo was born on November 25, 1926 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Angel and Faustina (Rubio) Castillo. Frank married Irene Enciso on August 12, 1950 in Saginaw. She predeceased him on June 22, 1990. He proudly served in the United States Army and was a Pathfinder in the 11th Airborne Division. Frank was employed as a pattern maker for the Central Foundry, retiring after 43 years of service. He loved bowling with his friends and fishing from his two boats. Frank's grandchildren brought a new found joy and love to his life. Frank is survived by his children, Fred (Kelly) Castillo of Traverse City, Mary Lou (Andy) Faden of Grafton, MA, Rebecca (Michael) Castillo, Paul Castillo, Laura Castillo of Boston, MA. and Michael (Laura) Castillo; 12 grandchildren, Sarah (Brian), Brett (Melisa), Jenna (Craig), Ian, Will, Lauren, Maryrose, Ellen, Rachel, John Michael, Jacob, and Rebekah; four great-grandchildren, Shae, Sophia, Sam, and Matthew "Pumpkin Head"; and a sister, Mary Castillo. Also surviving are many nieces and nephews. Frank was preceded in death by three brothers, Jesse, Salvador, and John Castillo. FUNERAL: Frank's Funeral Liturgy will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 6, 2012 at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 4735 W. Michigan. Rev. Fr. Jack Johnson will officiate. In accordance with Frank's wishes, cremation has taken place. VISITATION: Friends may visit with Frank's family at SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the 11:00 a.m. Mass. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to SS. Peter and Paul Catholic Church or a special donation by Frank's family to his loving Caregivers of his Assisted Living Facility, c/o Rebecca Castillo.
