Doris Yeip

YEIP, Doris Lee of Saginaw, Michigan, formerly of St. Clair, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, November 10, 2011, at her home. She was 73 years of age. Doris Lee Emerich was born November 10, 1938, in Port Huron, Michigan to the late Alexander "Shep" and Elizabeth Emerich. She was employed by Cargill, formerly Diamond Crystal Salt Company, retiring in 1998, after 28 years of service. Doris was a past member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in St. Clair, Michigan, where she assisted as their financial recording secretary. She was a recent member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church, where she helped with the publication of the newsletter. Doris also attended Bethlehem Lutheran Church. She was active in the St. Clair Art Association for many years. Doris was also an avid reader and enjoyed the craft of knitting. While living in Saginaw, she enjoyed spending time with the ladies from church. Above all, Doris truly cherished her family and their many family vacations. Surviving are two daughters: Katherine (Al) McKenna of Saginaw, Brenda (Kevin) Orava of Bloomfield Hills; three grandchildren: Thomas McKenna, Nicole McKenna and Kendall Orava; a sister, Joan Vercnocke of Fort Gratiot; a sister-in-law, Janice (Harold) Convis; three nieces: Cheri Vercnocke, Renee (Jeffrey) Till, and Darlene (Steve) Baker; a nephew, Dean Convis; a great niece, Madison Till; a great nephew, Max Till; three aunts: Laura Emerich, Dorothy Emerich, and Celeste (Jim) Repp. Also surviving are several cousins. Doris was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Ronald Vercnocke. FUNERAL - Doris's funeral service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 14, 2011, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 808 Weiss. Rev. Michael Korte will officiate. In accordance with Doris's wishes, cremation will follow. VISITATION - Friends are welcome to visit with Doris's family on Sunday, November 13, 2011, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) or at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
