George Armour

ARMOUR, George, Formerly of Oak Park, Michigan and Oakland County. Passed away on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at his home. He was 89 years of age. George Armour was born on April 2, 1922 in Detroit, Michigan. He married Phyllis Carney - Bale on February 26, 1976. She survives him. George was a Public Safety Officer for the City of Oak Park, Michigan. He also served as Chief Code Enforcement Officer for the cities of Oak Park and Auburn Hills, Michigan. George loved both his families with all his heart. He loved his home on West Twin Lake. Family and friends will miss seeing him working in his yard. Surviving are his wife Phyllis; a son, George L. (Carolyn) Armour, a daughter, Chloe (Kari) Amour, a son, Richard A. (Janice) Carney, a daughter, Karen (Michael) Sienkiewicz and a son, Dan (Lisa) Bale. Also surviving are George's grandchildren; Ted, Richard, Leslie, Michael, Christopher, Matthew, Stephanie, Tanya, Sheryl, Stacy, Misty and Randi, great-grandchildren; Madeline, Robb, Parker, Connor, Valerie, Melissa, Kristen, Jimmy David, Breann, Brandon, Brody, Jessica and two great-great-grandchildren. George was preceded in death by a grandson, Tommy Armour, a brother and two sisters. In accordance with George's wishes, cremation has taken place. Family Services will be held at a later date.
