Marcelle van Benschoten

VAN BENSCHOTEN, Marcelle Louise of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Friday, February 25, 2011 at the Cartwright Hospice Residence. Age 91 years. Marcelle Louise Filiatraut was born on August 22, 1919 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Frank and Ella (Koehn) Filiatraut. She married Duane S. van Benschoten on December 5, 1941. He predeceased her in June of 1984. Marcelle was a member of the Lawyers Wives Auxiliary, the Ladies Saginaw Garden Club, and the Saginaw Country Club. She enjoyed walking and exercising at the Y.M.C.A. Marcelle was also a member of the State Street United Methodist Church. She was a wonderful homemaker and had many many friends. Marcelle is survived by two sons, Duane (Carol) van Benschoten of Saginaw, MI. and Richard (Arlene) van Benschoten of Madison, WI; a daughter Marcia (Scott) Andrews of Montgomery, AL; five grandchildren, Ame (Adam) Kaplan, Derek T. van Benschoten, Dana (John) Gosen, Tucker (Katie) Andrews, and Morgan Andrews; three great-grandchildren, Hannah June Kaplan, Marni Julia Kaplan and Ethan Alexander Gosen and two brothers, Bob (Phyllis) Filiatraut and Fred (Lois) Filiatraut. Marcelle was preceded in death by twin sisters, Ellen and Irene; three brothers, Melvin, Frank, and Eugene. . VISITATION and FUNERAL- Friends may call at the Deisler Funeral Home on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Marcelle's Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) Pastor Kirk Lauckner will officiate with the burial in Roselawn Memorial Gardens. MEMORIALS- In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to Shattuck Manor or the Cartwright Hospice Residence.
