Kathryn Basner

Basner, Kathryn Ann of Saginaw, Michigan passed away Saturday, January 1, 2011, at The Laurels of Mt. Pleasant. She was 92 years old. Kathryn A. Gudritz was born on September 16, 1918, to the late Alfred and Emily (Gillam) Gudritz. She was married to Reynold Basner on August 24, 1956, in Saginaw. He predeceased her on February 9, 2004. Kathryn graduated from Saginaw High School and attended Central Michigan University. She was employed as a substitute teacher and a supervisor at the Michigan Bell Telephone Company. She and Reynold loved spending the winter in Venice, Florida. She enjoyed playing bridge and was in several clubs for many years. Kathryn also enjoyed working in the yard and loved spending time with her family. Surviving are two sons and a daughter: John (Holly) Furlo of Saginaw, Thomas C. Basner of Saginaw, Barbara A. (Carter) Pohlman of Milford; six grandchildren: Liisa (Goran) Bozinovic, Mark Furlo, Robert (Dana) Furlo, Maria Elliot, Kelly Pohlman, Katie Pohlman: 14 great grand children; and one brother, William A. Gudritz. FUNERAL: Kathryn's funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Following Kathryn's wishes cremation will follow the service with burial in Forest Lawn Cemetery. VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the Deisler Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 4, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the 1:00 p.m. service.
