Betty Romes

Beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away peacefully on Tuesday evening, March 3, 2026, at Saginaw Senior Care. She was 71 years old.

Betty Lou Schoenmeyer was born July 15, 1954, in Saginaw, Michigan, to George and Betty (Spear) Schoenmeyer. She married Craig L. Romes, on October 16, 1971, in Saginaw.

Betty enjoyed playing the lottery, scratch-off tickets, and Club Keno. She loved shopping and taking trips to the casino. Betty also loved getting her nails done and spending time with the Tuesday Afternoon Girls Club. Above all, Betty cherished the time she spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were the true joy of her life.

Surviving are her children: AmyLynn (Joseph) Bollman, Dana (Justin) Schmidt, and Jeremy (Kelly) Romes; her grandchildren: Diana (Jacob) Nauman, Mason (Sharon) Schmidt, Zachary (Hannah) Kinsman, Maxx (Kathryn) Schmidt, Emma Romes, and Ethan Romes; three great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Nauman, and Mattie and Tatum Schmidt; her siblings: Charles Schoenmeyer, John Schoenmeyer, Dale (Jayne) Schoenmeyer, and Lois (Pete) Heagany; sisters-in-law: Roz (Kenneth) Howell, Sue Schoenmeyer, and Patty Schoenmeyer; best friend, June Elkins as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.

Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Craig Romes; her granddaughter, Madison “Maddie” Schmidt; two brothers, George Schoenmeyer and Brian Schoenmeyer; her brother-in-law, Thomas Jacobi; and her sister-in-law, Jan Schoenmeyer.

Betty’s family would like to thank Saginaw Senior Care, Vickie and Jessica for the wonderful care they provided to Betty in her time of need.

VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Sunday, March 15, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.

MEMORIAL SERVICE: A Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, March 15, 2026 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State). Pastor Julie Bailey will officiate.
