Linda Enstrom Fettig, age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
Linda Rae Enstrom was born May 16, 1945, the only child of the late Harry F. and Rachel (Neal) Enstrom, in Brownsville, Pennsylvania. She was a graduate of Jefferson- Morgan High School, class of 1963 and earned a bachelor’s degree in 1966 from California University of Pennsylvania, graduating with high honors. She began her teaching career at Upper St. Clair Schools in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
She married Burt Fettig on January 27, 1968, at Hewitt Presbyterian Church in Rices Landing, Pennsylvania. Burt preceded Linda on November 5, 2016.
After marriage they moved to Bloomington, Indiana where she earned her master’s degree and Burt earned his Ed.D. at Indiana University. Their next move was to Mt. Pleasant, Michigan where Burt worked for Central Michigan University and Linda worked as an elementary teacher in the Mt. Pleasant School System. Their last move was to Saginaw, Michigan. Burt worked as a student services administrator at Delta College and Linda taught in the Saginaw Township Community Schools. She retired from Hemmeter Elementary School in 1999 after 34 years of teaching.
Linda was a past president of the Junior League of the Great Lakes Bay Region, a past president of Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) Charter EQ and a member of the Bluestockings Book Club. She enjoyed golf, reading, and gardening.
Linda and Burt established endowed scholarships at Delta College and with the Community Foundation of Greene County, Pennsylvania.
In keeping with Linda’s wishes, there will be no visitation or public services.
