Since our childhood days, we shared so much as we grew up together, dreamed together, and experienced so many memorable events. Mary was always there for me, through thick and thin. She was the kindest and most generous soul I've ever known. Her radiant smile and laughter will forever light my memories and her kindness will live on in all who had the pleasure of knowing her. When Mary & I were kids, my mom and grandmother made large quantities of candies and cookies to give as gifts at Christmas, and she kept them stored in the attic where it was cool. Mary and I would sneak up and help ourselves to our favorites and rearrange the contents so my mom wouldn't know. One day my mom was talking to my grandma, and Mary was over at the time, and she said they would need to make a few more batches cause it was looking like they were running short. We both got worried it wouldn't be long until they figured out it was us. We got the idea to put my little sister on the stairs to the attic with some of the candy and cookies just before my mom went to bring another batch to the attic. We didn't want my mom to suspect us. It was only when we got much older that we finally confessed what we had to my mom and she laughed so hard thinking about the strategy we used to throw her off track. With Love and deepest sympathy to the Hausbeck family and to Mary's sister and Brothers. May her light guide you, her kindness comfort you and her beautiful smile live on in each of you.

I was fortunate to have Mary and her best friend Connie as my college roommates/suitemates. Mary was always positive and lots of fun while at the same time very practical and very tidy definitely doing more than her share of the cleaning. The last time I saw her she reminded me of how we would go outside our dorms on cold, clear Marquette nights and watch the northern lights. We had such fun catching up with one another when she would come up north to the Traverse City area vacationing with her big extended family. I never got much notice but she would call and say,” We are up north!” And we would make a connection happen. No question her greatest joy was time spent with her family and friends and I feel blessed to have been a friend of hers.
