Claudette Buckler

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday, May 9, 2026 at Covenant Healthcare in Saginaw, she was 82 years old. Claudette Edna Marquis was born December 10, 1943 in Clair, New Brunswick, Canada to Romeo and MaryAnn (Chase) Marquis. She married Raymond C. Buckler on July 9, 1966 in Clair, New Brunswick, Canada. She was a member of St. Vianney Catholic Church.

She will be remembered for being a beautiful person inside and out, never had a bad thing to say about anyone and had a kind soul. Claudette loved talking with her family, friends, and neighbors. She enjoyed working in her flower beds, playing cards, taking trips to the casino and going out to dinner every Saturday night with her husband, Raymond. Claudette was a wonderful cook and baker, making many delicious dishes including Goulash, apple pie, and lemon meringue. She also enjoyed watching the birds on the pond, reading articles on her phone, and watching gameshows. But, what Claudette loved most was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Surviving is her husband, Raymond C. Buckler; children, Christine Stokes and Scott (Tammy) Buckler; grandchildren, Matthew Stokes, Dr. Katie (Dr. Michael) DeHoek, and Samantha Buckler; siblings, Lucille Simoneau and Josette Marquis, and many nieces and nephews.

Claudette was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Conrad Marquis; great granddaughter, Maeve DeHoek.

The Buckler family would like to thank the doctors and nurses on 3 South at Covenant Harrison for the wonderful and compassionate care they provided in Claudette’s time of need.

VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Friday, May 15, 2026 from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 1:30 p.m. Friday, May 15, 2026 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road, Saginaw, MI 48603.  Rev. Fr. William J. Rutkowski will officiate. A Committal service will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Saginaw.
