Obituary

Hernandez, Pamela J.

Saint Helen, Michigan

Formerly of Saginaw, Michigan

Loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend passed away peacefully, surrounded by love, on Saturday July 11, 2026 at The Horizon of West Branch. She was 70 years old.

Pamela Jean Barclay was born July 21, 1955, in Saginaw Michigan to Arthur and Gloria (Premo) Barclay. Pamela married Raymond Hernandez April 21, 1975 in Saginaw. She was employed by Kmart and St. Mary's Ambulatory Care before moving to Saint Helen Michigan in 2006.

Pamela loved life. She loved everyone she met, and they loved her in return. Pamela loved playing bingo with her many friends at the Horizon. She spent many hours playing Yahtzee with Louella, and Sequence with Kate, her best friends. But most of all, what she really loved was her family, and her caregivers at The Horizon, who became family.

Surviving are her daughters Virginia Zarazua and Angela Hernandez; grandchildren Miguel Zarazua, Jesus (Cheyanne) Zarazua, Alecea (Lucas) Braughton-McCans, Angel Brethauer, and Grace Brethauer; great-grandchildren Parker and Ozzy McCans, and Athena Zarazua; siblings MaryGrace (Dennis) Emerson, and Kris Mannon; and many wonderful nieces, nephews, and friends.

Pamela was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her sister's Michelle Valenzuela and Renee Barron and her son-in-law William Brethauer IV.

In keeping with Pamela's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held in August.

In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may consider memorials to the Roscommon County Animal Shelter, where she adopted her cat Olivia.

Ben and I had a wonderful visit with Aunt Pam a year ago and that is when the picture I shared on here was taken. I just love that pic of Ben and her. She was one of the sweetest ladies and she will be missed. 🥰
