Donna Bowden

Bowden, Donna M. of Saginaw, Michigan passed away peacefully at Edgewood Assisted Living on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. She was 87 years old. Donna Marie Bluem was born on October 9, 1938 to Walter D. and Marie A. (Yokat) Bluem. She graduated from Arthur Hill High School. Donna married her high school sweetheart, Robert “Bob” Lynn Bowden on May 28, 1960 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Saginaw, he preceded her in death on September 13, 2022. Throughout her life she enjoyed working as a secretary within healthcare including Dr. Manning, Saginaw Osteopathic Hospital, East Michigan Cardiovascular Surgery and retired from Dr. David Wiersema’s office in 2012. Donna was also a hostess and secretary for the Miss Saginaw County Scholarship Pageant for 35 years. She sang with the Saginaw Coral Society, filled the roll as “Hockey Mom”, and was a leader with Girl Scouts. Donna enjoyed many crafts including: sewing, arranging flowers, drawing and painting. She loved to cheer on MSU, especially during basketball season. Donna was a faithful member of Christ the Good Shephard Parish – St. Helen Catholic Church for many years. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family, and she will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Donna is survived by her three children: Lynn (Martin) Hasse, Lori (Craig) Skowronski and Chris (Tracie) Bowden; grandchildren: Amanda (Ben) Fordos, Ryan (Sarah Szymanski) Hasse, Hunter and Autumn Skowronski, Isabella and Cheyenne Bowden; two great grandchildren: Brayden and Beckett Fordos; brother, David W. (Mary Ellen) Bluem; sisters-in-law: MaryAnn Bowden and Marilyn Jessen; many nieces, nephews, cousins, special friends and dear neighbors.

Donna was preceded in death by her husband, Bob Bowden; and her sister: Wilma Withrow.

Donna’s family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of Edgewood Assisted Living and All Valley Hospice for the compassionate care provided to Donna in her greatest time of need.

VISITATION: Family and friends are welcome to visit at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Wednesday, August 12, 2026 from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m.

SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 12, 2026 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. Pastor Rick Milks will officiate.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Miss Saginaw County Scholarship Pageant or UAARS - Undercover Angels Animal Rescue of Saginaw.
