Obituary

Norman John Sullivan

September 21, 1941 – August 24, 2026

Norman John Sullivan, 84, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away peacefully at his home on August 24, 2026. A cherished husband, father, grandpa, great-grandpa, and friend. Norm will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Born in Six Lakes, Michigan, on September 21, 1941. Norm married Linda Ann Rathbun on April 2, 1966; they recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He served in the United States Army, attended Michigan State University, and was a lifelong fan of Spartan football and basketball. A devoted Christian, he found joy in attending Hopevale Church alongside Linda.

Norm worked as a dental sales consultant, building warm relationships with the staff in the offices he visited. At home he was a true family man who treasured everyday moments—playing card games, fishing, gardening or simply talking about life. He and Linda shared a playful, affectionate partnership full of inside jokes and easy banter; anyone who spent time with them could see how much they enjoyed being together. Nothing lit up Norm’s face, quite like time with his grandchildren and, most recently, his great-grandson.

Norm is survived by his wife, Linda; his sons, Mark, and Brian (Wendy); his grandchildren, Olivia (Tyler), Morgan, Logan (Bradyn), and his great-grandson, Scottie; and his brother, Cyrus Sullivan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Adeline and his sister, Verlene.

A viewing will be held from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, on Thursday, September 10, 2026, at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road, Saginaw, MI 48603. A celebration of life service will start at 1:00 p.m. with military honors under the auspices of the United States Army and V.F.W. Post #1859. Private burial will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.

Linda & family, I am deeply saddened for your loss of such a wonderful man. I loved seeing Norm’s smiling face & always looking so distinguished as he called on the office I was at & he took great care of the dental needs of the office. He was way more than a dental rep. Just the one of the nicest men I have ever known. Oh the times he got me out of a bind when running low of certain materials. My heart breaks for all of you. Norm was always a true gentleman & always reminded me of my dad. My thoughts & prayers are with all of you. May God walk with you at this difficult time.

Linda, I am so sorry to read about Norm’s passing. He worked with my Dad, Bill Henry. Dad thought a lot of him. I met both of you. My parents often mentioned you. I think the last time I saw both of you, it was at a convention in Detroit. Mom lived to be 103 and was her sharp wonderful self until the end. I remember you both as this young good looking couple, and you remained that way. Judi Henry Palmer
