Janet passed away peacefully on September 14, 2026 at HealthSource-Saginaw. She was 70 years old. Janet Ilene Barb was born on June 25, 1956 in Saginaw to William E. and Irene E. (Rosteutcher) Barb. Janet was a graduate of Douglas MacArthur High School, Saginaw. She devoted 30 years of her working life to serving others at Bill Knapp’s, where she was a dedicated and well-loved server. In retirement, she continued to enjoy the company of others while tending bar at Bay View Bar in Bay City. In her younger years, Janet cherished time spent canoeing and camping throughout Michigan with her family. She also had a special place in her heart for animals, especially the many cats she lovingly cared for throughout her life.

Janet is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Taryn and John Reyna; grandchildren: Alexander, Hope and Mitchell; sister-in-law, Sharon Barb; and many dear friends and dedicated co-workers.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents; son, Mark Brethauer; brother, James Barb; great grandmother, Helen Rosteutcher; great aunt, Nelda Rosteutcher; three nephews: Jamie Barb, Benjamin Barb and Michael Barb.

In keeping with Janet's wishes, cremation has taken place and her family will celebrate her life together with a private service.
