Maria Salcedo

Maria M. Salcedo, age 81, of Saginaw, passed away on Saturday, October 10, 2026, in Saginaw at MyMichigan Medical Center.

She was born on September 12, 1945, to Cresencio and Santiaga Hernandez in Saginaw, Michigan.

Maria enjoyed playing cards and taking trips to the casino, especially when she could share those experiences with family and friends. She also had a fondness for murder mysteries, enjoying both television shows and books that kept her guessing until the very end.

She is survived by her beloved daughters, Rosalie Peters and Kristina Salcedo (Miguel); loving grandchildren, Scott (Tina) Peters, Danielle Peters, Jacob Peters, Santiaga Casas and Linda Justina Casas; cherished great grandchildren, Isaac Peters, Breeah Smith, Dominick Peters, Elijah Peters, Aviellah Peters, Maria  Eliseo Negron and, Jayceon, Aniyah and Danyel Rice, Jacob Peters Jr., and Jagger and Jerzie Findlay- Peters; siblings, Florence Sandoval, Rose Hernandez, Irene Lowing and Delores Ornelas; and several special nieces, including Yolanda Brenner and Maria Montalvo, nephews and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her husband Antonio Carmona; siblings, Salvador Hernandez, Richard Hernandez, Justina Guerra and Cesario Hernandez.

Visitation for Maria will be held on Sunday, October 18, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., with a Vigil Service at 6:00 p.m., at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road, Saginaw, MI 48603.

Visitation will continue on Monday, October 19, 2026, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 910 N. Sixth Street, Saginaw, MI 48601, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Funeral Mass at 11:00a.m. Rev. Fr. Francis Voris, OFMCap, will officiate.
