Robert “Bob” Arthur George, age 92, of Saginaw, passed away, Sunday, October 25, 2026 at Covenant HealthCare in Saginaw, Michigan, surrounded by family.
He was born on July 20, 1934 to Arthur and Sarah George in Saginaw, Michigan.
Bob married the love of his life, Carol Kleinfelder, on November 13, 1965, and together they shared a loving marriage spanning 61 years. He spent his entire career as an ice cream salesman for Mooney’s Ice Cream in Saginaw. Bob took great pride in maintaining his yard, which was always immaculate. He enjoyed camping, working on word search puzzles, telling jokes, sharing stories, and visiting with family and friends. Bob was a talented handyman, having the ability to fix just about anything for anyone. Above all, Bob cherished the time he spent with his family, who meant the world to him. He gave a lot of great advice and we will all miss him.
Bob is survived by his loving wife, Carol George; beloved children, Gary (Renee) George, Janet (Nick) Bodis, Kristine (Kevin) Moore, and Jennifer (William III) Putman; cherished grandchildren, Sarah (Rob) Canham, Somer (Don) Depestel, Matt George, Amanda (Ethan) Kuszmaul, Brandie Brenske (fiancé, Randall Sawyer), Melissa Brenske, Nicholas Bodis, Alex Bodis, Addison Bodis, Amber (Dariun) Abdo, Isabelle Putman, Abbigail Putman, Addison Putman, and Gabriella Putman; great grandchildren, Cayden, Payton, Caleb, Dakotta, Chase, Brady, Blake, Shelby, Cameron, Julian, Naomi, and Elena; nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends, Ken and Sandy Schlaefke, Dave and Amy Darty and Russ Perry.
He was preceded in death by his daughter, Peggy Jo George; grandchildren, Karlie Moore and Brendan Moore; his siblings, Sally Moore and Thomas George; and his parents.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 29, 2026 from 1:00 p.m., until 8:00 p.m., at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road, Saginaw, Michigan 48603.
Visitation will continue Friday, October 30, 2026 from 9:00 a.m., until the time of service at 10:00 a.m., at St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 4705 Brockway Street, Saginaw, Michigan, 48603. Rev. Andy Retberg will officiate.
Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Saginaw, Michigan.
Memorials in honor of Bob may be made to St. John’s Evangelical Church.
