Obituary
Ramona Irene Werth, of Saginaw, Michigan, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by the love of her family, on Wednesday morning, October 28, 2026. She was 92 years old.
Ramona Irene Darwish was born on January 28, 1934, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Abdull and Victoria (LaTour) Darwish. She attended Saginaw High School and later earned her GED, completing night school to proudly receive her diploma.
Ramona met the love of her life, Byron Charles Werth, and the two were married on November 14, 1951, beginning a beautiful life together that spanned nearly 75 years. Their enduring love and commitment were a testament to the life they built together and the family they cherished.
Ramona owned and operated Little People on the Grow in James Township for many years, where she dedicated herself to caring for and nurturing children. This loving, giving spirit extended far beyond her work and into every part of her life. Ramona was the solid foundation and the glue that held her family together. She had a remarkable way of bringing people together, making everyone feel welcome, loved, and at home. Whether hosting family gatherings, planning parties, or simply enjoying time with those closest to her, Ramona never missed an opportunity to create special memories with the people she loved. Her home was a place of warmth, laughter, and togetherness, and her generous heart always seemed to have room for one more.
A faithful member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Ramona carried her faith and caring spirit throughout her life. She especially treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren, making many memorable trips to Mackinaw City with them. She also enjoyed traveling south to North Carolina and Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, with Chuck, creating wonderful memories along the way.
Above all, Ramona's greatest joy was her family. She gave so much of herself through her time, her talents, her kindness, and her unwavering love. She was the steady presence everyone could count on, the heart of family gatherings, and the gentle thread that kept generations connected. The love she shared and the memories she created will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Ramona leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love, devotion, and family togetherness that will be cherished for generations to come.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Charles “Chuck” Werth; children, Sheila Ewald, Charles B. Werth, Sharon Shoup and Becky MacDonald; 16 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and seven great great-grandchildren; special nieces who always made a weekly visit that Ramona cherished, Dianne Crandall and Linda Bissonette and several more nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.
