Clara Hazelton

Hazelton, Clara Ann (Neff) Saginaw, Michigan Our beloved mother, sister, aunt and dear friend passed away peacefully on Friday, February 7, 2020 at Close to Home Assisted Living. She was 71 years old. Clara was born on May 8, 1948 in Lansing to the late Raymond L. and Frances (Herber) Hazelton. She graduated from Corunna High School and was blessed with a daughter, Kay in 1968. Throughout her life, she didn't let her physical challenges deter her from living life to the fullest. She married John I. Neff (Saginaw) on June 7, 1969. She had many interests: animals, music, dancing, movies, games and creating beautiful crafts with her hands. In addition she was a collector of koalas, penguins, lighthouses and angels. She loved to travel with her daughter. She would also share memories of traveling to the U.P. by boat, and seeing the process of the Mackinac Bridge being built. She was a member of the National Association of the Physically Handicapped and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church (St. Anthony's) for many years. Her feistiness gave her caregivers and friends at Close to Home joy. Clara's family is forever grateful for the wonderful care and compassion that was provided to her. Clara's kind hearted and humorous spirit will be missed by everyone she knew. She is survived by her daughter, Kay A. Neff; brother, Raymond L. (Cindy) Hazelton, Jr., sister, Susan Schramm and many nieces, nephews and cousins. SERVICE: A celebration of life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Monday, February 17, 2020 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Sr. Mary Lou Owczarzak M.S.Sp. will officiate. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Monday from 2:00 p.m. until the time of service.
