Dolloff, Anita Ruth Saginaw, MI Passed away on Friday morning, September 20, 2019 at her residence, she was 93 years old. A. Ruth LaRose was born March 16, 1926 in Ogdensburg, New York to the late Ralph and Bertha (Richard) LaRose. She attended an all French speaking grade school and graduated from Ogdensburg Free Academy High School. A. Ruth met the love of her life, Carl C. Dolloff while working for the United States Government in Washington D.C. during World War II. She married Carl on September 20, 1947 in Ogdensburg, New York. He preceded her in death on December 24, 2011. A. Ruth was a faithful and active member of the Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption, St. Mary's Leisure Club, Buena Vista PTA, Bonsai Club, Bridge Club, American Business Women's Association, Saginaw Underwater Explorers, and a Member of the YMCA for many years. A. Ruth was a Fred Astaire competitive dancer for three years and performed in many competitions in Detroit. She was a fabulous gardener and loved her beautiful Japanese garden. A. Ruth also enjoyed baking and made many wonderful wedding cakes for her family and friends. She also enjoyed spending time with her husband on their sailboat, sailing the Great Lakes. A. Ruth was also an avid SCUBA diver and was awarded diver of the year. She was a lover of all animals big and small, especially cats. But, what she really loved most was traveling and spending time with her family. Surviving are a daughter, Linda Dolloff-Busch and many nieces and nephews. A. Ruth was preceded in death by her son, Robert Dolloff; siblings, Wallace LaRose and Agatha LaRose. FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 25, 2019 at the Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State). Rev. Fr. Randy Kelly will officiate. Rite of Committal will follow at Roselawn Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at the Deisler Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 25, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation or The Religious Sisters of Mercy of Alma (Cathedral of Mary of the Assumption), 1965 Michigan Ave., Alma, Michigan 48801. Ruth was a wonderful woman and loved kids. My son William fowler and his friend Raymond went down to her house to swim and play. She would spoil them giving them pop,chips,and candy spoiling their supper. She will be missed so much. She was a good neighabor and friend love her so much . Rip

Ruth was such a sweetheart to us neighborhood kids. We moved to Spring Road in the early 80s and lived there until the early 2000s. So much of my childhood was spent talking with her, playing with the cats, watching her tend to her beautiful garden, and playing in her yard (especially Hide & Seek in her garden :-) ) I loved hearing about her life stories, adventures, and looking at the interesting sea shells and trinkets she brought back from her trips. She always treated us kids like her own and had the best cookies! My Mom and I are forever grateful for her hospitality, friendliness, and warmth. She will be terribly missed. Rest in Heaven.

Thank you Tania for such a heartfelt tribute to my mother. Yes she was quite an Auntie to the neighborhood kids as I'm continuing to hear from neighbors. She enjoyed all facets of life and was always busy with someone or some project she would work on for days or even months like her gardens. Thank you for coming to her her funeral and speaking to me of your fondly remembered experiences.
