Obituary
Joyce Geraldine Feeheley passed away peacefully on April 2, 2015. She was born in Saginaw on July 16, 1927 to Charlotte (Brauer) and John Arlt. Joyce was a member of the 1945 class of Saginaw High School and was still actively involved in planning their class reunions. Joyce married James Edward Feeheley on August 27, 1949 while he was attending Monmouth College and then moved to Ann Arbor where Jim received his MBA at the University of Michigan. Joyce and Jim made their home in Saginaw for all of their lives except for a brief transfer to Danville, Illinois. Joyce was a devoted wife, mother and friend to many. Joyce will be remembered for her kindness and wonderful sense of humor. She was an avid golfer and loved to travel. Joyce & Jim had many fun times with the "Friday Night Group", and these life-long friends are still meeting every Friday for dinner. Joyce was a dedicated and creative "stay at home" mom and she enjoyed a successful career in real estate after she raised her family. She was a member of the Woman's National Farm and Garden Association, Saginaw Country Club and Resurrection Lutheran Church. Joyce volunteered at the Action Thrift shop for many years. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 60 years, Jim, and her son, David, in 2009. She is survived by her daughters Cathy (Jocko) Cunningham, Linda (Ron) Manchester and Debbie Rice; grandchildren Kevin (Heather) Byer, Jennifer (Andrew) Elgin and Matthew, Michael and Mitchell Rice; and great grandson, Jager Byer and Milo Elgin. Joyce is also survived by her brother, John (Lorraine) Arlt and many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at Shattuck Manor Assisted Living and A & D Home Health Care for the excellent care she received in her final months and days. There will a Memorial Service celebrating Joyce's life at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) in Saginaw on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at 12:00 p.m., with a visitation starting at 11:00 a.m. The family suggests memorials be made to Resurrection Lutheran Church, 2110 Brockway, Rd., Saginaw, MI 48602.

Joyce and I have been good friends since junior high school. When she married my cousin Jim Feeheley, we became more than good friends: we became family. Joyce was one of those rare people who always did the right thing, played by the rules, and would not think of telling a little white lie. Joyce always had a smile on her face and a good word for everybody. I never once heard her speak disparagingly of another person. She has been a good friend for seventy or so years. I shall miss her very much. With love, I say, Good-Bye, Joyce.

I am so sad to learn of Joyce's passing. I doubt she ever realized how much I admired her. She was always thinking of family and including everyone. She kept my husband Jack informed whenever news occurred among the relatives or among high school friends; she was our own personal Saginaw news-reporter. We shall miss her phone calls and updates. She was, to my mind, the epitome of goodness. She was always cheerful, kind and hospitable to everyone. We are blessed to have known her.
