Laurie LaFountaine

Loving sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, August 17, 2026, at Optalis Health and Rehab St. Francis in Saginaw. She was 70 years old. Laurie Ann LaFountaine was born April 2, 1956, in Saginaw, Michigan, to Charles Francis and Sally Lou (Henris) LaFountaine II.

Laurie attended Delta College, where she earned her Associate’s Degree. She was employed by Nexteer as an Executive Assistant, retiring after 22 years of dedicated service. Laurie had attended St. John Vianney Catholic Church for several years.

Laurie cherished the time she spent with her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed attending arts and crafts shows and had a special love for caring for dogs and cats. Laurie also looked forward to traveling to Florida to visit her sister, Lynne, and treasured the time they shared together.

Surviving are her siblings, Cathy Swope, Charles LaFountaine, and Lynne (Michael) Gempel; nieces and nephews, Samantha (Matthew) Vanderlist, Nicole (Drew) Miller, Megan (Tim) Ostrom, Lisa LaFountaine, Trisha LaFountaine, and Richard LaFountaine, and extended family and friends.

Laurie was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Richard LaFountaine; and her nephew, Christopher Gempel.

VISITATION: Family and friends will gather at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State) on Thursday, August 20, 2026 from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

FUNERAL SERVICE: A Funeral Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2026 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Road (off State). Adam Ortega will officiate. Laurie will be laid to rest at St. Andrew Cemetery in Saginaw.

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider memorials to the Humane Society of Saginaw County, Undercover Angels, or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
